Alizarin Crimson - Daniel Smith 5 mL

Regular price $10.00

The traditional cool red, Alizarin Crimson is a clear ruby-red with a bluish undertone. It is the artist's principal deep red pigment, is transparent, and has good tinting strength. It creates bright rosy pinks when mixed with white, and a range of purples and violets when mixed with strong blues. It’s finely ground with light granulation and dries slightly glossy.

Sophie says: “This is one of my ‘desert island’ colors - an absolute essential in my palette! Try mixing Alizarin Crimson with Ultramarine Blue for a deep, rich purple.  This is one of the six core pigments I recommend for color theory experiments.”
